I can't run Vista or higher without a significant performance loss.

I run a backwoods version of windows XP corporate for multi-core processors. and then all the rest of the prime components.

#Ancient space low fps upgrade#
My rig is too old to upgrade anymore without replacing the motherboard. This is one of the primary reasons I've mostly switched to consoles. I don`t mean to sound evil here but upgrade your rigs guys, everything you do will be enhanced, every game that you play will be like "omg wow look at the graphics and my fps is so good too, its soooo smoooooth". Of special note are the posts by, and Hope this helps and happy gaming Edited by Dedhed on Ap1:06PM The post by in the linked thread explains what each setting is for. If this thread helps you, I suggest you bookmark it too. Also SET LuaMemoryLimitMB "256" starts at "64", but if you have the RAM to spare (this runs off RAM and deals with addons from what I've read, not sure if it affects/is affected by anything else), increasing it may help.Īnd now I link to a great reference thread that I have bookmarked. SET PFX_SUPPRESS_DISTANCE_v2 "35.00000000"Īs for SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" I have found Direct X 11 to work best, but "D3D9" or OpenGL (not sure if that's "OGL" or "OpenGL" for the settings) might work better for some others. Same with PreferExclusiveFullscreen being set to "1" *Note* I didn't expect turning Color_Correction to "0" to help very much, but it did to a surprising degree.
This should give increased performance while keeping the game looking alright. SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "1" from the default of "0" SET COLOR_CORRECTION "0" from the default of "1" **Edited with info from a later post so the most relevant info is all up top**Īll you should need to do is go to the in game Settings menu have the general Graphics setting at Minimum, Texture Quality at Medium, Subsampling at High and resolution at default for your monitor.Ĭhecking back at the UserSettings file (on my computer - Libraries/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live), the only lines I needed to change for a good performance boost were ini file settings (there are some that I exclude for space and readability reasons that have nothing to do with performance) followed by a link to a very helpful thread from the past. My own comp is actually just under minimum spec and even with the changes, I tend to average about 10-11 fps. Also, for quite a few, ye olde "get a better computer" comments are simply not helpful. There are plenty of people who want to play, but have low end machines and many who do with very low fps. I'm happy to re-compile FreeCAD from git with different flags and test things if you have suggestions of what to change.Well aware that there are similar threads in the support sections, I'm creating this one for greater visibility. Perhaps a compilation flag or an optinoal library whose inclusion would make things faster? I do not know if FreeCAD is using this OpenGL - how can I check? So the computer does have OpenGL working (and fast enough for an old computer).
